"Whys" of This Week

Why did Facebook change their inbox format? It's the dumbest, most unnecessary thing they've done so far. Although, I'm sure they will top themselves.

Why is it so hard for some people to follow simple instructions?

Why is it raining so much?

Why, no matter what does the stall door swing open every time I use the bathroom at work? It just swings open as I'm sitting there. we can't get that latch fixed?

Why do people ask me, everywhere I go, if I saw the gas prices that day? Yes, they are going up. No, they are not going down. Thank you for reminding me.

Why does lunch time go so fast and work time go so slow?

Also,

Why is it only Thursday?

Stage 10 of Christmas - The Days After.

Well, Christmas is officially over.

"Now what?"

This is always my feeling the day after Christmas! lol

All the hype, all the spending, all the suspense...over.

I LOVE the stations that continued playing Christmas music the day after, it was so much fun driving home.

The Christmas exchanges with family and friends throughout this week make Christmas continue on, even if I have to work every day! They are wonderful and exciting in their own sense because they have a feeling of being "bonuses" of Christmas.

I get this dramatic love of Christmas from my mother. She is a Christmas fanatic. The fact that I am actually depressed after Christmas Day is truly her fault. For those who know me and read this blog, you know this is a rare moment of sentimentalism. I know that decorations in Bula will be up until the weekend after the New Year and presents will stay under the tree for at least the day after New Year's. Christmas music will still play and the eating of left overs and cookies will continue on for 3 weeks. Not knowing any other way, I admit that I am biased towards these traditions.

I know people who take everything down and put everything away as soon as the actual Christmas Day is over. I cannot fathom this lol where's the fun in that?

Christmas is one time a year. One time a year to see everyone you love, to eat whatever you want and way more than you should, to spoil children who may not even deserve coal, to hear the Christmas story, to actually not mind longer travel times and snow coming down in buckets to cover everything. One time a year to get the things you WANT instead of buying yourself the things you NEED, to see people's faces light up as they open their gifts, to bust out all your holiday scented candles and baking skills.
(or lack there of if you're me) :p

I know that there are still down times, the remembering of loved ones who are no longer there, the missing those who can't come home, the piles of neglected work you will have to go back to, the spending of your savings, the messy house, the long lines in stores, and the days that it will take to get everything put away...

But it's so worth it! And to be over in a day, or two days, is just unimaginable for me. I want to make Christmas last as long as I can. A two week extension taking you right into that next year! Who wants to rush?

So here's to a Merry Christmas Week! Life is so short and this truly is the best time of the year!

Stage 7 of Christmas - The "Last Day of Work Feeling!"

Today is officially my Friday!
There's something about the anticipation of this day that makes it go sooo slow when it finally arrives! ;)
I am very jealous of those who have Monday off and even more jealous of those whose break started today!!!
None the less, I cannot wait to begin my holiday weekend!
Here's to a fantastic "Friday"!!!

Learning to Make Lemonade...

Hello all! lol life has been...interesting lately!! My car has been out of commission for almost a month now - but thanks to the amazing Sparklins it was towed to Ashtabula last weekend and as soon as I purchase a transmission they will be switched out and I should have by next week!!! I miss it oh so much!! lol

I have been using my Dad's car while I don't have mine - a couple weeks ago, the wheelbearing snapped, (while I was driving it), and I needed to call AAA to have it towed bk home. It was repaired and everything was great until last week, when the frame snapped (near the axil, it was rusted out apparently) - again, while I was driving - and I (again) called AAA and was towed home.

So, now I am completely carless, but am so grateful for everyone who has helped me out the last couple weeks w/rides (esp. Kristi to-and-from work and my mom coming out from Bula)!!!

My new nickname is "car killer".

I am looking at apartments again! lol It's been two years since I moved last but this fall it will be time again! Not positive, depends on my parents (most ppl know the situation there lol) but it's imperative that I stay close to work. Will keep everyone posted on that one!! =D

Speaking of work... lol I have thoroughly enjoyed my break from Pizza Hut and have loved having my weekends off w/o having to request them or find a replacement, etc. but w/fall coming and having the unexpected car expenses - I am hoping to find another second job!! Wish me luck b/c I HATE interviews!!!! lol

Due to the current car situation - I missed two concerts I planned on seeing, Tim McGraw and Brooks and Dunn :'( To make it worse, I heard they were both amazing... as expected... LOL - I will also most likely be missing Randy Houser - insert very sad face.

But what can you do? lol Except do everything possible not to miss Joe Nichols and Blake Shelton - hahaha it will make them that much better... ok not really, but there is always next year!!

Work has been insane! Very busy as well as slightly overwhelmed, but hanging in! lol determined to not get behind! I did lose one battle tho, and that would be the clean desk battle - I have concluded that the stacks of papers, files, and checks will be there....forever. At least it's not the same stacks, I'm on a cycle lol everytime I remove or complete something - a new project appears. At least it's always interesting and always busy! Reps will never know what they are talking about and customers will always think that they do... it's just the way it is. ;)

On a good note, I've learned a few things such as: boots, axil, frame, ball joint, wheelbearings, where oil goes, that you can substitute water for coolant in a pinch, and that you should always have a back-up plan - LOL

On to Fall! =D

A.D.A. Website

What's going on at work...
September 12th I will be walking in the 2009 Step Out Diabetes Walk held by the American Diabetes Association (A.D.A.)
Diabetes is a growing disease in America and we still don't know what exactly causes it! (although genetics and environment seem to play a part)
Just wanted to share the link for the website! If you have or know someone who has diabetes it is full of great resources! Also gives information for people who may have diabetes in the future due to their family history!

The walk is held rain or shine so let's hope for the sun to be out!!! ;p

Why I May be Forced to Use the Men's Bathroom....

Below is a list of things that I cannot answer as to why they occur. They are in regards to the Ladies Restroom at work. Some things are apparently beyond my understanding.

**Disclaimer - these are disgusting.**

1.) Changing the toilet paper roll: seriously. I know that it takes an extra second and sometimes it's a pain to get that latch undone, but really, I think you can do it.

2.) "Dripping": Do I need to say more?
PLEASE, wait until you are completely done before standing.

3.) Not flushing: Really? Do you do this at home? I would like to say thank you. Thank you for brightening my afternoon - because the first thing that I want to do before I go to the bathroom is flush your waste, especially when it's number 2...

4.) Missing the trash can: this is a tough one, I missed do I bend over and pick it up, or do I leave it...yup, it's a tough one.

And last but certainly not least:

5.) Number 2: If you must go number 2 at work, use the air freshener and see number 3.

I apologize if this seems dramatized or like venting I assure you, I am NOT exaggerating and it IS venting...but only after enduring it 5 days a week for 11 months.
