Thought Provoking

Someone sent this to me in a email earlier and I thought it was worthy of thinking over, I really like things that make you think, and this is definetely one thing that made me pause.
IT IS STRANGE, ISN'T IT....

Isn't it strange how a 20 dollar bill seems like such a large amount when you donate it to church, but such a small amount when you go shopping?

Isn't it strange how 2 hours seem so long when you're at church, and how short they seem when you're watching a good movie?

Isn't it strange that you can't find a word to say when you're praying but... you have no trouble thinking what to talk about with a friend?

Isn't it strange how difficult and boring it is to read one chapter of the Bible but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a popular novel or ZANE GREY book?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants front-row-tickets to concerts or games but they do whatever is possible to sit at the last row in Church?

Isn't it strange how we need to know about an event for Church 2-3 weeks before the day so we can include it in our agenda, but we can adjust it for other events in the last minute?

Isn't it strange how difficult it is to learn a fact about God to share it with others;but how easy it is to learn, understand, extend and repeat gossip?

Isn't it strange how we believe everything that magazines and newspapers say but...we question the words in the Bible?

Isn't it strange how everyone wants a place in heaven but... they don't want to believe, do, or say anything to get there?

Isn't it strange how we send jokes in e-mails and they are forwarded right away but when we are going to send messages about God, we think about it twice before we share it with others?

For Anyone Who Works With Kids!!!!!

Child's Cowboy Boots:
(Anyone who has ever dressed a child will love this)
Did you hear about the Texas teacher who was helping one of her kindergarten students put on his cowboy boots? He asked for help, and she quickly found out why he needed it. Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots still didn't want to go on. By the time they got the second boot on, she had worked up a sweat. She almost cried when the little boy said, "Teacher, they're on the wrong feet."She looked, and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as, together, they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the right feet.He then announced, "These aren't my boots."She bit her tongue, rather than scream at him, "Why didn't you say so?" Once again she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet. No sooner had they gotten the boots off his feet, when he said ... "They're my brother's boots. My Mom made me wear 'em." Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. But she mustered up what grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots on his feet again. Helping him into his coat, she asked, "Now, where are your mittens?" He said, "I stuffed 'em in the toes of my boots." The teacher will be eligible for parole in three years.

"In You I Found Me"

I can't get enough of this song! It is a powerful love song that's been used to describe a person's life after they have met Christ and also as a theme song for many weddings and anniversaries! I hope you enjoy it!

A Quote for You!

"Life is a coin.
You can spend it anyway you wish,
but you can only spend it once."

Pictures too "Graphic" for the Media

Bet you haven't seen these photos!
Pray for our troops! That may be the only thing we can ever do for them, but it's the best thing we can do for them!

These photos will never make it onto TV but maybe with the help of the internet, people will still get the message.

These were sent to me in an email and I have to say that it was the best "forwarded" email I had gotten in a long time. This is why we need to be more supportive of our troops and the war they are fighting in.

What I Learned From A Fortune Cookie

Ok, Confession, I don't actually like fortune cookies, but I have to admit that you can get some pretty good advise from them. For example, this one has got to be my favorite: "So live your life that you wouldn't be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip" -unknown. And is it just me or like, does every series of lucky numbers have the number 33 in it. I don't know why I always think of that when I look at my numbers but, it's true, I'm telling you, look next time. I guess the reason why I'm writing this is not just because I'm bored but also to encourage you to crack open your cookie the next time you eat at a Chinese restaraunt. You never know, you might actually learn something,...like, that you shouldn't buy a parrot and that if you ever get into betting on horses, lay your money on number 33. Just a thought, hey, do with it what you wish.

"Some Things I Hate"

Here is a list of some of the things that I hate:
1.) Cleaning Windows
No matter how many times I clean a window, it will never come out streak free, even though I use the name brand "Windex" cleaner and coffee filters, which are supposed to be the best thing for them, they never come out clean. yesterday, I got yelled at by my manager when she saw that I was cleaning windows, actually, she even went so far as to call me the queen of ruining her windows. She was pretty upset, let's just say that, her not speaking to me for the rest of the day, was a good thing....
2.) People Who Sign Off IM, Without A Warning.
This has GOT to be the rudest thing a person can do. I have one friend, who, as soon as he doesn't like what your saying, or is bored by what your telling him, he just signs off! I don't know why this bothers me so much, it just does.
3.) People Who Are Two-faced.
Is it just me, or is it getting harder and harder to find an honest person? Has anyone else had this problem? I mean, come on, work, church, it's everywhere. There's always someone who is always trying to impress EVERYONE, you can't do it, not everyone is going to like you, and if you try to make everyone like you, you just come out two-faced because it is impossible to please everyone! And then when your two-faced, no one likes you excpet those that feel the need to suck up to you, but then again, they don't really like you either.
4.) Gift Wrapping.
Oh My Goodness! Talk about awful, that's the word that comes to mind when people see me wrapping gifts! Everyone holiday or birthday with family, I get yelled at by either my mom or my grandma for using to much tape. they're like, "Stop using so much, you don't need it! We don't have enough for you to do that! Your wasting it" but, then I always point out the fact that it's like $1 to buy more, it's not that big of a deal...but then I get that look that says "uh huh, you did not just suggest that I go to the store when I have 100 other things to do!" Come on, admit it, you have all gotten this look at one time or another, you know what I'm talking about!
5.) Liquid Medicine
Call me a baby if you like, but I refuse to take liquid medicine! I cannot stand the taste of it. I know that's what 5 year-olds say when they don't want to take their medicine but it's true, I can swallow any size pill you give me, or how ever many pills you give me, but, I will not take liquid medicine, ESCPECIALLY Night/DayQuil, that has got to be the worst tasting stuff on the planet!!!! It makes your tongue numb! How can anyone stand it?!? I would much rather suffer through my illness until I could get something in pill form. It's true, ask anyone who knows me, if all we had was liquid medicine in the house, I'd rather suffer thorugh it... one of my friends once told me, "just take it, it's not going to kill you and it will make you feel better", ya right, this coming from the guy who won't even take tylenol...anyway, I was sick all day until about 2 when my mom went to the store and got me some DayQuil in pill form. Thank the Lord for over-the-counter medicine that can be bought in whatever form you prefer!
I guess when you think about it, there's alot of things that you could say that you hate, and I'm sure that if I sat here long enough, I could think of many more things to add to this list, but who wants to do that? Truth be told, I guess I admit that none of these things are things that I really "hate", and when it comes right down to it, I don't usually use the word "hate" either, however, this is definetely a list of 5 things that I strongly dislike and could survive without! What are some of your pet peeves? Go ahead...let it out! :P

Some Things I've Learned...

I've learned...that life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes and, that the hardest part, is watching it happen to others.
I've learned...that we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
I've learned...that money doesn't buy class.
I've learned...that it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned...that under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned...that the Lord didn't do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?
I've learned...that to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned...that the less time I have to work, the more things I get done.
I've learned...that friends don't always come to you, sometimes you have to go to them.
I've learned...that it takes two people to make a relationship work-any relationship.
I've learned...that we need to appreciate the time we have-with others and with ourselves.
